Good News Club® is a ministry of Child Evangelism Fellowship (CEF) which partners with our church. At GNC trained teachers meet weekly with children (with parent’s permission) at Miller elementary after-school. Each week the teacher presents an exciting Bible lesson using colorful materials created by CEF Press. This action-packed time also includes songs, Scripture memory, a missions story and review games or other activities focused on the lesson’s theme.
The purpose of Good News Club is to evangelize boys and girls with the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ and establish (disciple) them in the Word of God and in a local church for Christian living. There are nine additional Good News Clubs that meet at various schools throughout Lubbock.
Our church members work together volunteering their time and energy weekly to teach at the Good News Club. They are trained by Child Evangelism Fellowship to have a club that is exciting and informative so that children will want to attend. Those who cannot be on site for club meetings provide refreshments and memory-verse aids. Additional volunteers are always welcome.
Our church has supported our Good News Club at Miller Elementary for several years. We see our involvement in reaching children with the Gospel of Jesus Christ as both an outreach ministry and local missions. Many children have believed the Gospel and professed Christ as their Savior through their participation in the Good News Club. Our volunteers can all attest to the statement that “there is nothing more beautiful than to see an understanding of the Gospel dawn on the face of a child.”
